We Complained And They Listened – Facebook Activates Safety Check Feature For The Nigeria Blast

After the criticism Facebook received from Nigerians & citizens from other countries regarding the #PrayforParis attack and the way Facebook used its Safety Check feature for the attacks in Paris but not for the Beirut bombings a day earlier, the social networking site has activated its “Safety Check” feature in Nigeria following the death of 30 people in the Yola Blast.

Mark Zuckerberg, made the announcement in a post on his account:

“We’ve activated Safety Check again after the bombing in Nigeria this evening,” Zuckerberg said after Tuesday’s attack.

For those who don’t know, Safety check allows users to “check-in” and let family and friends know they’re safe.

My prayers go to the families of those who lost their lives in the Yola bombing. Do share the word.

Creating history... One review at a time.

I don’t think these moves will foster the STOP of these killings in Nigeria. Present government should do something about terrorism (as they promised) & stop it. We’re too undeveloped to be experiencing terrorism.
