Remember James Bond’s Secretary, Miss Moneypenny? Rumor Has It That Facebook Is Creating Its Own.

Apparently, Mark Zuckerberg and his employees have been watching too much of James Bond movies, I mean, why else would they codename their rumored personal assistant after the popular James Bond  secretary, Miss Money Penny.

Anyways, It appears that Facebook is tired of allowing Siri and Cortana take all the shine as they are set to create their own Personal assistant. According to the Information, Facebook is gearing up to launch a new digital assistant codenamed Moneypenny.

The rumor has it that Moneypenny will be integrated with Facebook Messenger and will link users with real people to help them research and buy products (more like task rabbit and the likes). What this means is that unlike Siri and Cortana that uses the web to search for information, Moneypenny would be able to provide help when buying a product or researching on a service using just a text message via Facebook’s Messenger.

They want your Facebook messenger to not only serve as a means of communicating with friends but also serve as your shopping tool. If this rumor actually comes to pass, it would be a whole new service from Facebook.

In my opinion, I actually love the “dominate the world” spirit in Mark Zuckerberg, from ensuring that Facebook integrates itself with the internet to getting the mot used chat app in the world and now this, Facebook is apparently and obviously not looking to die anytime soon!

Moneypenny, we await you!

By the way, what do you think of the name MoneyPenny?

Creating history... One review at a time.

Am I the only one who thinks Facebook(and Mark Zuckerberg) is trying to play catch up? Yes , they’re trying to dominate the world. but if you’ve followed their recent trends you will notice that Facebook is only trying to mimmick already existing technologies. They’re no longer inventing new things.

They came up with “Hello” caller ID app when they know there are thousands of caller ID apps.

They brought video calling to Facebook messenger when they know Skype is already rocking that category.

They are rumored be working on a music streaming service when there is already Spinlet , Spotify , Dezeer , Google Music and Tindal and Lots more.

Now they’re working on a personal assistant. What’s the essence? When we already have Siri and Cortana?

Facebook is trying to be “Jack of all”. Its a pity they have no solid , global rival. Facebook will continue to dominate.

      Good evening Tobi.

I can’t think of any firm that has made a mark in VR, and I think FB will do just that
