MediaTek Revenue Soars Thanks to China-based Phones

While the Apple fanboys are still raving about the iPhone 7, Android fanboys with MediaTek devices would be glad to read that the Mobile SoC specialist, MediaTek (Popular with Chinese smartphones) has reported a high increase in their revenue.

How high?

We are talking about a revenue of  $827.9 million in August alone! That is a 4.2% gain from July’s revenue, and an impressive 36.1% increase year-over-year. They also made sales of $2.32 billion.

According to the watchers via Digitimes

Strong demand from Oppo and other China-based smartphone vendors buoyed MediaTek’s August sales.

The company is expected to enjoy another month of record revenues in September.

The interesting part is, apart from Chinese Smartphone manufacturers, we also have PC manufacturers like Asus (for the Asus ZenPad 3S 10) looking to include them in their device.

If that didn’t faze you in the least, what if I told you that Microsoft’s Xbox One S Wi-Fi and Wireless connectivity would come from MediaTek?

… WELL, MEDIATEK HAS BECOME SO POPULAR WITH BUDGET OR MIDRANGE PHONES. THE PROFIT WILL CONTINUE TO RISE BECAUSE THEY ARE ADVANCING DAILY. MEANWHILE, SAMSUNG’ EXYNOS CHIPS AREN’T PLAYING CATCH UP BECAUSE THAT’S JUST A UNIT UNDER THE SAMSUNG BUSINESS ENTITY…
