They ran various battery consuming activities like web browsing, gaming, and video playing, to name a few.

At the end of the test, the Samsung Galaxy S7 came out on top while the iPhone 7, err…See the results:

The S7 died at 5hr 21mins, followed by the LG G5, while the HTC 10, Sony Xperia XZ and the Google Pixel all tried to stay within the 4hrs mark. The only bad apple, in this case, is the iPhone 7 dying at 3 hours 44 minutes.

why are there no MTK devices? does it mean no mtk device can stand snapdragon or ios devices in terms of battery ….hmmmmmmn

      1. Henry says:

Cos MTK isn’t a flagship processor. You will hardly find it in a flagship phone of big firms. Maybe in a that of the likes of Tecno, Gionee and Infinix but never the top dogs.

You are right, part of the reason is this. In a top smartphone you have to use a chip that supports all LTE network bands. and mtk chips support just a few… for instance the phantom 6 plus uses mtk but it doesn’t support Globacom’s LTE which is on band 28 whereas every premium phone form lg, samsung, htc, and apple supports band 28…

Its part of the reason why you only get mtk chips in the low and mid range devices from TOP OEM.

Is that the only flagship phones for 2016?

Not the only, but the first variant of the top flagship devices of the year. The only device I think is missing is the blackberry

WELL, AS FAR AS 2016 IS CONCERNED, SAMSUNG IS THE KING AND IF NOT FOR THE NOTE 7 DEBACLE, SAMSUNG WOULD HAVE NAILED IT AGAINST ANY COMPETITION.
MEDIATEK IS CONSIDERED TO BE A SECOND CLASS CITIZEN IN THE PROCESSOR WORLD…

      Samsung s7 always on top

      Great work!

You should have compared the S7 edge and the IPhone plus tho instead of their smaller counterparts.

I’m pretty sure S7 edge will take the lead and the iPhone 7 plus prolly won’t come in last.
