Who Is Excited? Xiaomi Set to Launch Four Smartphones in Nigeria, But Exclusively on Jumia.

If you have a been a long time reader on MissTechy, then you should know about my love-hate relationship with Xiaomi. Love because what’s not to love about the brand!! And hate because you can’t ‘easily’ buy them in Nigeria. Well, that is about to change! According to an email I received from Jumia, Xiaomi has concluded plans to unveil four of its latest smartphones — the Redmi Note 5a:

The Redmi Note 5a Prime:

Redmi 5:

..And Redmi 5 Plus:

In Nigeria and exclusively on Jumia.

Prior to this latest development, you could buy any of these devices from Jumia Global, which usually takes up to 2 weeks of delivery.

However, these devices would be available on Jumia Nigeria starting from the 7th of March. You will also be able to purchase them during Jumia’s Mobile Week Sales event scheduled to hold March 15th through 25th, 2018.

As far as specs are concerned, you can check out the difference between the Redmi Note 5a and 5a Prime:

    1. Fhemi says:

I love their phones but till now they never had a good market in Nigeria

    2. Kemi Oguntayo says:

Yaaassssssss I can’t wait for this one!! The Redmi 5 would be perfect as a second device.

    3. Abdul Abdul says:

Will it just be the redmi note 5 selling in Nigeria? What about the likes of redmi note 4 Mi Note 3 or Mi Mix 2😍?

    4. Kay says:

      SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    5. MoonLight says:

Finally, Xiaomi officially in Nigeria. Now those Transsion boys gat to watch their back. Wait are we not getting the MI Mix 2

    6. Xiaomi is a wonderful phones though. I just received one from GearBest last week and since then I have dump my others smartphone and stick to it. I have already fallen for Xiaomi. Their brand represent quality. The Xioami Redmi 5a has reduced to 35,000 Naira now and the flash sale will end in 6 days time from now.

    7. Emmanuel Ayo says:

Cool phones. Just don’t like the battery size. Not enough juice. For users like me tho.

    8. Ransy says:

Not bad but not too excited. I’ve got my eyes on the Xiaomi Mi A1 already. That phone is bad. Can’t wait to be able to finally own it.

    9. Good for them, Aftersales support nko?

    10. ỌBÁDÁRÀ says:

… WELL, GENERALLY, THIS IS A GOOD ONE FOR THE CONSUMER MARKET. ISSUES I FEEL SHOULD BE BOTHERING THE MIND OF POTENTIAL XIAOMI BUYERS IN NIGERIA 🇳🇬 ARE:
HOW DO I GET PHYSICAL SUPPORT FOR MY PHONE?
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO OUR FORCED LOVE OF INFINIX AND TECNO?
WILL I BE GETTING OREO TOO?
HOW WILL I GET SPARE PARTS FOR THIS PHONE I’M BUYING?
ONCE ALL THESE QUESTIONS CAN GET THE POSITIVE ANSWERS, WHO WOULDN’T BE EXCITED TO USE A XIAOMI PHONE EVEN IF ITS JUST FOR EXPERIMENTING?…

    11. DSA says:

Wow ooh this is a welcome idea is nice to have them in Nigeria market, they have being very impressive with their product.

    12. Adegbenro says:

It’s always good for the consumer for there to actually be competition in the market. These are all mid-range phones with specs similar to what other OEMs presently offer in Nigeria. The Xiaomi 5 Pro, for example, might compete well with the Tecno Phantom 8 and infinix Zero 5 if the price is right.

    13. Adegbenro says:

No 64 GB model of the Note 5 Plus coming to Nigeria.?
