Do you currently own a MediaTek device?
It would interest you to note that the company has added a new member to its Helio P family— the P22.
The SoC borrows a lot from its elder brother — the P60. For one, it comes with Edge AI enhancements, powered by MediaTek NeuroPilot. It’s also built with TSMC’s 12nm FinFET technology, similar to the one you get on the Helio P60. The company claims that it will be able to deliver exceptional battery life, but not at the risk of providing top-notch performance. Then, there is the fact that you get dual 4G connectivity on both SIM cards, same as the Helio P60. Asides from that, the chipset will provide an AI accelerated camera experiences, including Face ID, smart photo album, and single-camera as well as the dual-camera depth of field features. The Helio P22 also supports the hardware-driven dual camera for up to a 13MP+8MP combination with an ability that’s as fast as 30 frames-per-second (FPS).
I have a feeling that the Samsung fans amongst us probably had a look of disgust when they read the 30FPS bit.
But unlike the high price mechanisms adopted by Samsung thanks to the high-end chipset used, the P22 would offer all the aforementioned features on a budget.
When will this be available in consumer devices? From the second quarter of 2018!
It’s all fine and dandy, but the major question is, who do you think might be the first to launch a device with MediaTek Hello P22 in Nigeria — Tecno, Infinix, Gionee
and dare I say iTel?
My money is on Tecno, though. 😏
P.S. I had to subscribe to Sucuri, a popular security platform so I could further protect the website, as a result, the comments were disabled for a couple of hours. I do apologize 😭😢
