On Tuesday by 9:30 am, I’d be live at the official launch of NG_Hub, Facebook’s first ever community hub in Nigeria.
Now for those who didn’t catch this when it was revealed last year, NG_HUB from Facebook would be a multi-faceted creative space that would connect and bring together developers, startups and the wider community to collaborate, learn and exchange ideas. It will also function as learning centers for local communities, providing multiple opportunities for training and access. Aside from partnering with CcHub, NG_Hub has also partnered with other tech hubs outside Lagos like the Ventures Platform in Abuja, CoLab in Kaduna, nHub in Jos and Roar Nigeria in Enugu.
According to information reaching me, the Hub itself will include workspaces, meeting rooms, games and chill out room and an event space, and will also be the focal point for a number of training programs aimed at attracting the best talent and driving innovation in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.
Of course, there is no doubt that this new development will help to increase to develop and nurture communities in Nigeria, including small businesses, the tech and startup ecosystem, youths and creatives.
