The Women Who Rule

SheHacks Africa Wants to Teach Youths to Code! (Updated).

Hey, did you think this was a girls-only event?

SheHacks has kicked off her S(he) Hacks Africa coding Bootcamp for 2018! It’s a software programming, entrepreneurship and leadership training program for young women and men between the ages of 18-30 years.

This year’s Bootcamp will last for 4 weeks and it has been divided into two cohorts. The first —Cohort 5 will run from May 21 – June 15, 2018, and the second — Cohort 6  from July 2 – 27, 2018. The Bootcamp will offer participants training in full stack web development (HTML, CSS, MySQL, JQuery, Building Responsive Web App, LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL, PHP) and Mobile App development using IONIC Framework.

To apply:

    1. You will need to fill an online application form by clicking here
    2. If shortlisted, you’d be contacted to take an online assessment.
    3. A face-to-face interview follows next.
    4. Within two-five days of your last interview, a decision will be made.

If this sound interesting, you’d have to hurry up because the deadlines for Cohort 5 ends on the 10th of May and 10th of June for Cohort 6.

On a side note, who else thought this was a girls-only event?

Update: Once enrolled you will be required to pay a commitment fee of N5,000 (which is affordable if you ask me).  Also, the Bootcamp will take place in Lagos.
