NewsFlash: YouTube wants a slice of the music streaming cake.
To achieve that, they intend to launch a music streaming service in March, 2018 to rival the likes of Spotify and Apple Music.
The in-house name?
Remix will feature on-demand music similar to Spotify. The company has also finalized plans with Warner Bros. Music Group, but they are still in talks with a couple of others.
Now, here is an interesting fact, this would be Alphabet’s third attempt at the music-streaming business. First was Google Play Music introduced in 2011, then YouTube Music Key in 2014, which was later changed to YouTube Red in 2015, so it will be interesting to see how YouTube, known for the provision of free music, markets their new service.
I just pray they make this globally available.
