An African Game Developer? Join the $250k Microsoft Challenge.

Microsoft has a Dream.Build.Play challenge that is open to all African game developers. The challenge seeks to maximize their creativity and create experiences that engage gamers from across the world. It’s divided into 4 categories —you have the cloud-powered game category which has the highest prize money ($100,000). In this category, the developers must build a creative game that uses Azure Cloud Services on the back-end.

The second is the PC game category ($50,000), and it involves building a Windows 10 game.

Finally, you have the mixed reality game category — creating a mixed reality game experience that lets players interact with 3D volumetric content in a virtual space —and Console game category — building a UWP game for the Xbox One console family. They both have a prize money of $50,000 and $25,000 respectively.

The competition is open to all creators, working solo or in teams of up to seven.

    … WELLSS MUCH AS WE WOULD COMMEND THIS, I WANT TO SAY THAT MICROSOFT SHOULD HAVE MADE THE PRICE MONEY 💷 FOR THE MIXED REALITY CATEGORY THE HIGHEST IN ORDER TO ATTRACT THE MOST ATTENTION. THIS IS BECAUSE THAT AREA NEEDS A ‘BIGGER’ ATTENTION…

    Games cancelled by Microsoft for it’s Xbox one console;
    • Scalebound
    • Fable Legends
    • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6: Patriots
    … And a whole lot more.
    I pray your video games(cloud, PC & console) get picked up by companies and studios that are interested in your growth & development.
