Dear Xiaomi, Come to Nigeria Already! Have You Seen Xiaomi's New Laptop & Smartphones? (Update)

Xiaomi has unveiled its latest ultrabook.  It is called the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro

Xiaomi is (once again) coming for Apple with this one, and you can tell by the way the notebook is designed.

Specs-wise, you are getting a 15.6-inch display, Intel’s latest quad-core i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of SSD storage, and Nvidia’s GeForce MX150 graphics, you’d also get a fingerprint sensor built into a precision trackpad.

Compared to the MacBook Pro, the new Mi Notebook Pro has more ports. You get two USB-C ports, two full sizes USB-A ports (USB 3.0), an HDMI, SD card slot and a headphone jack. Of course, the advantage of the MacBook Pro is that all the USB-C based ports are Thunderbolt 3 enabled something which the Mi Notebook Pro does not offer.

How much?
It’s a bit pricey, the core i5/ 8GB RAM variant is priced at $859 while the other two variants — Core i7 with 8GB and 16GB of RAM— are priced at $980 and $1,099 respectively.
So, back to the issue of the Macbook look-alike.
Yes, it might look like the MacBook, but someone should tell Xiaomi that It’s not what you have on the outside that counts, but what you have on the inside — in this case, the MacOS. So, for this reason:

But the Mi Mix 2 is something that has got me interested!

It is the second bezel-less Mi Mix smartphone and it is equally as gorgeous as the first. The Mi Mix 2 has a 5.99-inch, 18:9 screen, with a hidden speaker on top. And it is also 11.9% smaller than the Mi Mix
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and 6GB of RAM as well as 64/128/256 GB of storage paired with a 3400mAh battery. And if that’s not enough, you can get the Mi Mix 2 Special Edition, which has a ceramic body and has an insane 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. As for the camera specs, you only get a single, 12-megapixel camera along with a  5MP front camera. All for $500!

They’ve also launched the Mi Note 3 which is a little smaller than the predecessor — 5.5-inches — with a Snapdragon 660 processor, 3,500 mAh battery and 6GB RAM. You have a 16-megapixel selfie camera and 12-megapixel dual-lens arrangement for the rear-side camera, including 2X optic zoom, portrait mode and four-axis optical image stabilizer (OIS). This would cost you about $383.

Misstechy you could help us talk to them 😉😊 they should come oh many of their devices are already in Nigeria though

From third party sellers, yes. But when something happens to the phone what would you do. Is it better for them to establish their presence in Nigeria with that you get service centers should anything go wrong with your device.

  2. That mi mix 2 looks amazing, but based on economics I’ll prefer the mi note 3, like chimezie said after sales service gives intending customers the morale to make a purchase.

… WELL, MAYBE THE XIAOMI FANS IN NIGERIA WILL HAVE TO STAGE A MOCK PROTEST ON SOCIAL MEDIA TAGGING XIAOMI OFFICIAL HANDLES. THE NOTEBOOK LOOK THOUGH AND THE Mi NOTE 3! CHAI, SEE HOW THE Mi MIX 2 LOOKS! GAMING IN THIS WILL BE INTERESTINGLY TERRIFIC…

  4. The issue with Xiaomi coming here is the Nigeria harsh environment. Xiaomi has been trying to expand outside China.
They have moved into Mexico, the US invasion has not been smooth. And Nigeria will be harder.
Our only options are Jumia and buying direct from Chinese websites like AliExpress, JD. It is super safe and easy.
