REVIEW: Tecno Exhales a Breath of Fresh Air with The New CAMON CX Air

The new TECNO Camon CX is without a doubt one of the most beautiful, polished phone I’ve ever held. These words were true when we first reviewed the standard Camon CX in March, and are still true 2 months on. However, TECNO, in their new-found nature silently launched the “AIR” version of the Camon during that period and it’s as stunning as well.
OK, so the CAMON CX AIR is pretty but, it’s also important to note how close the Camon CX Air is to the Camon CX; “spec wise”. They both belong to the same Camon series, therefore, it is right to call the CX Air the Camon CX sister.
If anything, it has additional unique photo editing features and it’s affordable for an A-lister smartphone (this is TECNO after all, a brand that likes to pack as much into the phone as it can get away with at an affordable price).

Let’s look at what makes the TECNO CAMON CX AIR so special:
DESIGN: LOOKS LIKE THE FUTURE
No offense to some smartphones right now but the CAMON CX air is simply an “aesthetic harbour” phone done right. This is a tall device that fits snugly in the palm with curved sides that screams “classy.” And the screen?

The CX AIR colourful gorgeous display that stretches from edge to edge is housed in a 5.5 screen size. For its looks alone, I could personally say that this is TECNO’s flashiest phone so far. Trust me, when you see the CX AIR, you are going to want to put your hands all over it.

The CAMON CX air not only has a slightly bigger screen-to-body ratio than some other smartphones right now, but also look sleeker because of the way the Gorilla Glass curves toward the edges on the front.
Generally, people prefer bigger screen on phones these days, but if you have small hands, you’ll likely find yourself repositioning the phone in your hand to reach certain buttons, including the fingerprint censor, which is carefully placed at the back. The fingerprint censor button worked well in my testing, providing solid feedback.
About that fingerprint sensor…
Just like the standard CX, I was personally excited at the placement of the fingerprint sensor which is strategically placed behind the device because it makes for easy access. That for me, adds to the beauty of the device and it’s easy to target without looking. People started getting used to it when it first launched with the CX and now on the AIR edition.
If you don’t want to reach around the CAMON CX Air to unlock your phone, you can choose to use your unique finger print to lock and unlock your device.
Camera: Amazing both the front and back
When I first found out that the Camon CX Air dual 13-megapixel camera is apparently lower than the dual 16mp on the standard CX, I was a bit disappointed. But that rush of emotion was a bit premature, because under the camera hood, TECNO made sure the dual 13MP still stands out from other devices right now.
The 13MP dual camera comes with an amazing dual flash which enable the phone to produce noticeably better pictures no matter the lightning condition.
Are pictures taken with the CX Air amazing or what? See below

Battery Life

One concern about a phone with this much screen and camera quality might impact battery life. The TECNO Camon CX Air has the same battery capacity as the Camon CX which is 3200mAh. This simply means photo lovers can comfortably take more than 200 pictures with a 10% battery life- amazing stuff.
It’s clear that with the TECNO CAMON recent releases, TECNO is definitely making a serious statement this year. I can only imagine what their next flagship releases would look like
