Bots for Messenger Developer Challenge: An African Developer? Here's Your Chance to Win $20,000 From Facebook.

Facebook has just launched a Bots for Messenger Developer Challenge targeted at Developers across the Middle East and Africa. The challenge will see developers in teams of up to three people create innovative bots on Facebook Messenger under three categories: gaming and entertainment; productivity and utility; and social good.

At the end of the challenge, three winning teams (One from each category) will win $20,000 and 3 months of Facebook mentorship.

All some people see is the $20,000 😂.


Other prizes include:
Runner-up Teams:
For each region, three runner-up teams (one from each category) will win $10,000 and three months of Facebook mentorship
Finalist Teams:
The 60 finalist teams (10 per category in each region) will win a Gear VR and a mobile phone, one hour of Facebook mentorship and tools and services from FbStart — a Facebook program designed to help early stage mobile startups build and grow their bots. All student teams who make it to the finals will win an additional $2,000.

Bear in mind that the submission period runs from February 15, 2017, to April 28, 2017, and finalists (30 teams each) will be announced on the 19th of May.
