What do you call someone who refuses to give up on his dreams?
He sure has the will!
Will.i.am has had several futuristic tech visions that fell flat — one of which is the Puls. Mashable calls it a “wearable nightmare.”
Now, he is back with another gadget. Meet the i.am buttons — a Bluetooth earphone with metallic buttons that look more like clip-on earrings than a pair of earbuds.
Here is what he told The Times:
“You know, we all love buying shoes to match our outfits and bags to match our outfits, but for some reason we don’t expect our technology to match our outfit. Why not? Why should we just accept that? What I want to do is change that.”
“Why should you have to take off your earphones when you finish listening to something and put them back in a box or bag, instead of just wearing them around your neck like jewelry?”
A pair of i.am buttons will sell for $230; that is about N92,000.
Perhaps the price tag is due to its exceptional audio performance. ?
Whichever way you look at it, you can’t help but admire Will.i.am’s tenacity.
