Here Is How Much It Cost Google To Make The Google Pixel XL

For those who aren’t tired of seeing component breakdowns from IHS, here is another one, this time, IHS broke down Google’s Pixel devices.
According to the report, the Google Pixel XL costs about as much as an iPhone 7 Plus or a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to manufacture. The analyst firm took apart a 32GB Pixel XL and discovered that the total cost to make the 32GB Pixel XL is $285.75

Considering that Google sells a 32GB Pixel XL for $769, it’d be easy to say that Google is making a lot of money from each device it sells, but we can’t be entirely sure how accurate the math behind the IHS calculation is, plus Google is spending A LOT on advertisements.
Whichever way you look at it, manufacturing a phone doesn’t cost that much, which is why phone manufacturers like Xiaomi and Infinix can still sell cheap phones and make a profit.

Chai! These popular brands should sell their phones a bit cheaper then. Anyway, thats the law of demand and supply playing its part there, people desire more of the popular brands more than others.
Thats why you’d see some people still calling Tecno, Infinix, Xiaomi, and co. Chinko.

They spend billions On advertising, remember BB 10’s ad on Super Bowl 2013 halftime ?
It cost them $4,000,000 For a 30 seconds ad

it’s all about the money for these big firms… it’s all an ? ? ?. The maths isn’t even accurate enough considering they pay staffs who put together those components but all the same they still make their profit

Chai! Well, considering the fact that the budgeted 3billion dollars for advertisement, they would need their money back… But what i’m wondering is how xiaomi, onePlus and co manage to keep pricing low with premium specs.

All brands spend a lot of money on advertisements and public relations cos that’s a core part of any company wanting to sell their products. So It worth it.

this IHS sef…what concerns them with how much Google sell their phone… guess they don’t know how much Google pays it’s engineers

Whether IHS is correct or not – Manufacturing High End devices ain’t cheap, & DATs Y all dis phones popular here keeps releasing lower and frustrating specs, everytime. #itsallisay

… WELL, TO ASSEMBLE A PHONE MAY BE CHEAP, BUT SO MANY OTHER THINGS GO INTO THIS. THE WORKERS BEING PAID, THE CONSULTANCY AND COMMUNICATIONS, THE PATENT LICENCES AND AGREEMENTS, THE COST OF SHIPPING HERE AND THERE FOR TESTINGS, THE COST OF FREE SHIPPING TO BUYERS, THE COST OF FREEBIES COMING WITH IT AND THE TOTAL COST OF MARKETING. FOR EXAMPLE, ADVERTISING ON CNN FOR INSTANCE WILL BE MORE COSTLY THAN ON TVC…
