The second scenario is what happened while watching GTB’s 737 YouTube ad some months back.
I don’t know how many of you have seen the ad on YouTube — if you have, and you’re a Nigerian; chances are the theme song got you shaking your head, even when you want to skip it so bad.
The funny thing about the ad is, I can’t for the life of me remember the visuals used, all I remember about the ad is ”
?”Whatever you do, whoever you are, there is an easy way for everyone….”?
That, my friend, is an example of how to deploy a successful YouTube ad.
The truth is, going viral has become a kind of holy grail in advertising. But in a given year, only a handful of ads garner the necessary attention majorly because people’s attention spans are now shorter. However, if you can entertain people to grab their attention; then turn to your advertising needs by providing relevant information, you might just hit the sweet spot, like GTB’s 737 ad did!
For those who haven’t listened to it, I’d wager that you can’t listen to the song without nodding your head to the beat. (I am willing to put N100 on the line ?)
