12 Tech Names & Terms You Probably Are Mispronouncing

It’s 2016 and we still have people mispronouncing popular tech terms/brands. Hey, I have been guilty of this, so don’t feel bad, just learn and move on.
Okay, maybe you should feel bad a little.?
Anyway, I have come up with a list of 12 technology company names and terms many people have troubles pronouncing.  So, learn and sin no more.

1. HUAWEI:

Definitely one of the most mispronounced names in tech. No, it isn’t “HOO-uh-way” or “wuh-WEE.” It’s:
huawei waay-way

2. XIAOMI:

Xiaomi, the third biggest distributor of smartphones in the world looks difficult to pronounce because of the X factor, however, it is actually pronounced as:
Xiaomi

3. ASUS:

Asus, the Taiwan-based computer hardware company claims the correct way to say its name is “AY-soos” — “AY” like the letter “A” and “soos” like Dr. Seuss, with the emphasis on the first syllable.
Asus

4. NOKIA

Whereas many people pronounce Nokia as “Nock-eea”, the official pronunciation of the phone manufacturer is in fact
Nokia
“No way?” Yes, way!

5. NIKON

Nikon

6. HEWELLET PACKARD

Hewlett packard

7. ADOBE

Others pronounce it without the “E” as “Ad-ob” which is, yeah, wrong!
Adobe

8.EXYNOS

Samsung’s Exynos chips are quite popular, but not many people know that it is actually pronounced as
Exynos

9. MIUI

While most people might think it is pronounced as its initials  “emm-eye-yoo-eye,” it’s actually pronounced as:
MIUI

10. GIF

My favorite image format  is usually mispronounced,  with many people pronouncing it as “Gif,”  according to  its inventor, Steven Wilhite, it’s actually pronounced:
GIF

11. MEME

Another favorite of mine. Contrary to its spelling, meme isn’t pronounced me-me” but instead:
meme

12. Cache

Finally, many people interpret cache as a French word and pronounce as “ca-che”. This is, in fact, incorrect
Cache

Time to be upfront, which have you been guilty of?
