Unboxing The Tecno Camon C7.

Weeks after the Tecno C9 was launched, Tecno Mobile announced the Tecno Camon C7, a much cheaper version of the Camon C9.  As always, I got a review unit with me here, but first, a look at the specs.

PACKAGING.

The Camon C7 followed through with the C9’s design, although where the C9 had a blue and black box, the C7 comes in silver and blue.

WHAT IS INSIDE THE BOX

Accessory-wise, you have almost the same components found in the C9, this includes your charger, USB cable, earphones, a 2500mAh battery and the cover.

The fact that the C7 has a removable battery should excite some individuals who have a thing against non-removable batteries.

SAY HI TO THE CAMON C7

DESIGN AND BUILD

The first thing that came to my mind when I held the device was:
114847-phone
The Camon C7 is a 5-inch (cute and petite) device with an HD (1280 x 720) display.

HOW IT LOOKS ON A FLAT SURFACE

It measures in at 5.4mm, lower than the 6.8mm on the Camon C8, albeit because it has a “radian” curve (Which is supposed to fit your hands) it doesn’t lay flat.

HOW IT FEELS IN THE HAND

Weight-wise, the Camon C7 is kinda perfect, not too heavy and not too light either.

COLOR VARIATIONS

You also have 4 color variants, Elegant Blue, Sandstone Black, Champagne Gold, Rose Gold.

ANYTHING NEW?

I liked the fact that the C7 came with a tempered glass, a small, but important addition that can help protect your screen from scratches. (This was lacking in the C9).

BUTTONS AND PLACEMENTS

TO THE RIGHT, TO THE RIGHT.

Just like the Camon C9, the C7 has all its buttons placed on the right side, these include your volume, power, and shutter buttons.

BOTTOMS UP

You have the USB port and a mic placed beneath the phone.

VIEWS FROM THE TOP

Finally, you have the 3.5mm earphone jack port on top.

OTHER NOTEWORTHY DETAILS

FRONT VIEW

This bears similar resemblance with the C9m there is the 13MP camera, flash lens on the left and the iris scanner on the right.

You also have the Heartbeat button which serves as a notification sensor.

BACK VIEW

As said earlier, the Camon C7, unlike the C9 has a removable plastic cover and battery

You have the 13 MP camera lens.

A color temperature sensor to restore color. (Something the C9 doesn’t have) and a dual-flash lens

CARD PLACEMENT

The C7 has one SIM card and MicroSD card slots placed on the left.

However, placing the Micro SIM and the MicroSD card  is a little bit different because the cards are stacked.

CONCLUSION

That is all I can take for the unboxing, the review will be up in the coming week. In the meantime, what do you think?
UPDATE:

  1. The Camon C7 is between the price range of N39,000 – N40,000.
  2. Corrected the typo with the screen size.

Hello Tobi, in the context of this article, you stated therein ‘The Camon C7 is a 5-inch (cute and petite) device with an HD (1920 x 720) display.’. I am sure you meant to say 1280 x 720. Correct?

  14. KingAbsolute says:

The specs are good except for the 2500mAh battery, 40k is not that cheaper, but its worth it considering the spec.
A friend could have bought this phone but didn’t because of lack of 4g LTE.

  15. Techmania says:

Everything from the box to the design looks good, seems like balanced device for its price

Nice device.. However the camon C9 is a better buy since the price difference isn’t that much..
