If there is one annoying thing MacBook users who own an Android phone experience, it’s the unpredictability of Android File Transfer, Google’s software that allows Mac users to transfer files to and from their Android device. However, as said, the software is so annoying because most of the time, it doesn’t work. To prove this, check out Android File transfer versus the software you are about to meet (P.S: My phone is connected to my laptop, but Android file transfer is too messed up to notice).
Fortunately, there is now a software that is 100% better and reliable. Meet Handshaker, the Mac to Android file transfer that is quite the opposite of Android file transfer when it comes to frustrating users. It has a similar user interface to Mac’s finder window and it is quite easy to use.
Once installed, you might want to delete Android File Transfer, but this is not necessary.
After that, you need to enable Developer options, if you haven’t. (To do this, just go to Settings, About Phone and Tap Build number 7 times. Head back to the Settings and select Developers options, then scroll down and activate USB Debugging). Once that is done and dusted, connect your phone via a USB cable. You’ll be asked to authorize your Mac on your Android phone, just check your Phone screen and click on Always allow box and OK to confirm, do that on your MacBook too. And that is all brothers and sisters in tech.
You will be greeted with the Smartfinder window, where you can access all your Phone’s content, including music, videos and what have you, all segmented as seen below. To copy files to your computer you can either select the file(s) and right click and click on the export button or just drag and drop to your desired location.
Handshaker will also allow you to carry out basic phone management functions like deleting folders/files, creating new folders right there on your Macbook.
Honestly, this is the best Mac to Android File transfer software you can have

Within seconds of reading this article, I dug out my Mac and installed Handshaker. The difference between the Android File Transfer and Handshaker is like Android Honeycomb and Marshmallow.
