Opera has been incredibly ferocious in their bid to garner as many users as possible, first, it was the integration of VPN service with Opera browsers, now they have updated their Mini browser for Android to include an Ad blocking feature.
The new integration will not only speed up the overall browsing experience but will also help eliminate a large chunk of the data users download while trying to view web pages. They claim that the ad blocking feature will ensure a 40 percent faster page load time faster than the stable version of Google’s Chrome browser with AdBlock Plus and 14 percent less data consumed when browsing.
To try out this new feature, tap the O menu on your Opera mini browser for Android, then select the “data-savings summary” and toggle “block ads” on. You can also block ads in both high and extreme saving modes. This also applies to the desktop version, just head over to the settings menu and toggle block ads on, one interesting feature on the desktop version is the ability to shove a playing video to the side of your screen.
With features like this, it is only a matter of time before Opera claims the title from Chrome.
