Facebook Takes Over: Messenger And Whatsapp Now Process 60 Billion Messages A Day

For those who don’t know, Facebook Messenger is the fastest growing app in the world while Whatsapp is world’s most popular messaging platform. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise when Mark Zuckerberg announced that both Facebook messenger and Whatsapp now process 60 billion messages a day, that is three times the global volume of SMS messages! You lots have abandoned SMS, right?

Although he did not reveal which ratio is Whatsapp’s, you can easily tell that Whatsapp will dominate the larger portion of that number.
Anyone still uses SMS here?

    I barely use SMS, though it comes in handy when i want someone’s attention and the person is offline

    … WELL, I RARELY DO EXCEPT IF THE PERSON IS NOT ON WHATSAPP. ITS FASTER, MORE CONVENIENT AND WAY CHEAPER THAN THE TRADITIONAL SOLUTIONS…

    I use SMS for emergencies & when I want to get the receiver’s attention quicker (most people takes you more serious when you SMS them).
    That means seldom.

    I use SMS whenever I want to send a very important message. You can’t say you missed it, or didn’t see it on time.
