LG aims to please! Today, the company finally unveiled the LG G5 the device set to take on the Samsung S7 and the iPhone 7 at the ongoing MWC event. However instead of the samey trend we see on devices today, the LG went all gangsta by totally changing the G5’s game.
With the G5, you have the best of both worlds, a metal phone with a removable battery that is way different from what we are used to.
Camera wise, the G5 comes with a 16MP standard 78-degree lens and an 8MP, 135-degree wide angle lens – LG claims is “the widest available in any smartphone. Another game-changing feature is the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC paired with the Adreno 530 which is 40% faster than the Snapdragon 810’s Adreno 430 GPU. You also have a 5.3-inch, 2560 x 1440 resolution (QHD) display at 554pp and a Corning Gorilla Glass 4, 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM that is expandable and the Android Marshmallow
The only issue in the specs list is the 2800mAh battery but the G5 has an always-on display that allows you check the time, battery status, and your notifications without waking the phone, this drains only 0.8 percent of the phone’s battery every hour. There is also a Fast charging feature – 83% in 30 min (Quick Charge 3.0) and a fingerprint reader. The phone weighs 159g and measures 149.4 mm in height, 73.9 mm in width, and ranges between 7.7 and 8.6 mm in depth.
THE BIG BUTT
Yes! The G5 comes with an added
butt accessory called the LG CAM Plus. A camera grip that replaces the bottom of the phone with a bulky backpack, it features two 13MP wide-angle cameras, a non-removable 1,200mAh battery, 4GB of internal memory, 2K video, and 5.1 surround channel recording via three microphones.
Honestly, this device deserves a standing ovation.
No word on the price, but expect to break the bank on this one.
