iPhone On The Outside, Android Inside And A Surprising Twist That Will Make You Wonder: The InnJoo 2 Review

I am sorry for letting this come in late, but it is better late than never, right? Finally, I have dissected the InnJoo 2, of course, there are so many things I like and dislike about the device. So, join me as I review the InnJoo 2, who is excited?

InnJoo 2 is one fine device thanks to the fact that it bears a similar resemblance to the iPhone 6 (if you read the unboxing article, you should know this by now). However, you can notice some InnJoo elements in the design, for example,  the centered 13MP camera in the front is definitely no iPhone design.

The first time you power up the InnJoo 2. you will need to chill for about 35 seconds, which is even more than the InnJoo Fire Plus

Also, shutting down takes about 6 seconds

InnJoo stuck with their Fly Launcher which is nothing new. I have some reservations about the launcher (especially with the unnecessary ads) but this shouldn’t be a problem since you can download any launcher of your choice.
Innjoo 2

The InnJoo 2 stuck with the default Android 5.1 lollipop, this can be seen in the notification bar,
and Call dialer.

The InnJoo 2 comes with paparazzi-like function, i.e.  the default smart gesture
Double click to wake
Using the Fingerprint sensor to take pictures. And many others.

I did a review on the fingerprint, do check out the video below (The Fingerprint part starts at 11:42 minutes)

The video explained how the InnJoo 2’s fingerprint sensor sucks at recognizing fingerprint that is not placed the same way you placed them upon registering. i.e. It doesn’t support 360-degree finger print recognition.

Innjoo did a nice job with the front camera on the InnJoo 2, I tested it out in low light condition and the result was pretty amazing! Check out the camera in the video review I did

After using the device and charging it for a while, I got confused, I think InnJoo made a mistake with the fast charging feature, or maybe it’s the review unit I got. Which ever one  it is, I did a fast charge test and took screenshots at intervals.
Started charging the battery at 12:37 pm with the battery at 30%,
End result was taken at 1:25 pm with the battery just charging to 51% that is 21%

So, we all know how the InnJoo copied borrowed some design elements found on the iPhone 6, right? However, what you don’t know is that the Network adapter company used for my review unit of the InnJoo 2 is Apple Inc. Honestly, I was confused and my little research didn’t solve my dilemma, Any Guru in the house to explain this.
This is the first Network WIFI Monitor I used.

I had to  download another software to confirm

Of course, did you think I won’t take the camera out on a spin? Anyways, the InnJoo 2’s back camera is on the average. I did an Indoor, outdoor, and low light test using the back camera. .
See the results below:

As it is customary for Misstechy, I like ensuring the devices I review undergo this test. Check out the video review, it starts at 2:57

I covered this in the video review, but after playing with the device for about 15 minutes, this includes playing games like modern combat, into the dead among others with the WIFI, Bluetooth and location switched on, the InnJoo 2 drained 5% in 16 minutes. Is this good enough for you? Don’t forget to watch the video above and tell me if it is.

What is a review without benchmarks?
Here is an Antutu Benchmark
Basemark Benchmark

Things I found very interesting:

  1. Using the fingerprint to take pictures is actually very comfortable, do note that this uses any finger whether registered or not.
  2. At that price, the Front camera is actually very good.
  3. It can Multi-task without any noticeable lag, although, after restarting my device the next day, some of the games I opened a day before restarted.
  4. Not many bloatware as found on other InnJoo devices

Things I didn’t like:

  1. The Fingerprint’s inaccuracy (You might need to take about 4 fingerprint types of the same finger to improve this)
  2. The fact that you can’t swipe a button to clear background apps.
  3. Fast charging is nowhere near what a fast charging should be
  4. The fact that you’d have to betray your Memory card for your 2nd SIM Card or vice versa

All in all, for that price, I think the InnJoo 2 despite the listed shortcomings is a great device. What do you think?.
By the way, please watch my video review and let me know if you want me to continue in that style of reviewing gadgets P.S: I did a camera, fingerprint, and multitasking test in one video.
The InnJoo 2 supports, proximity, accelerometer, light, orientation, proximity, gyroscope, temperature, and magnetic sensor.

  9. Lewis Daniel says:

No audio review, those InnJoo products are terrible with audio quality when using a earpiece or even the phone speakers too.

    1. Tobi Ayeni says:

That was not intentional, however, the audio is okay, not too loud,, not too low.

  10. Osakwe tochukwu says:

Theis phone is anything but impressive, im not impressed with the camera at all, the flashlight cam sample is blurry. The outdoor sample is just there as for the fast charging…my note 3 charges way faster than that. I will rather buy a london used samsung galaxy s4 than this phone. Im not impressed

  11. Kolawole says:

Hi. A thing I like to consider before buying a phone is if it has a good and reliable customer service in Nigeria. Does Innjoo have something like its own carlcare? In case we need to fix the phone screen, buy a new charger, upgrade to lollipop or marshmellow. Or in case we want a refund of our money if the phone crashes or something that our warranty covers.
That’s the reason why I won’t buy Xioami, Meizu, Umi, Elephone, Gionee. I’m anticipating your reply. Thanks.

    1. Tobi Ayeni says:

Hi Kolawole, InnJoo does have a Carlcare center located at Ikeja. Awolowo way to be precise.

      1. Kolawole says:

        Fine then.

  12. FELIX says:

Nice review @misstechy..but i must say i wasnt impessed at all @innjoo..very annoying..who has some 45seconds to spare waitng for a phone u spent some pretty cash on to power up?(rhetorical question though)

  13. Noni says:

“However, you can notice some InnJoo elements in the design, for example, the centered 13MP camera in the front is definitely no iPhone design.”
Thank you. I can’t see an iPhone knock-off when I look at the Innjoo. Maybe I’m not looking hard enough.

    1. Tobi Ayeni says:

The build kinda looks like an iPhone especially the top and bottom part of the phone.

  14. Fundango says:

    Nice review,keep it up.

  15. KingAbsolute says:

MissTechy your review is on point, the phone is good but they should have done better.

  16. Kolawole says:

Can the Innjoo Fire Pro be upgraded to Lollipop? Or Marshmellow? Yet?

  17. ambrose_mc'coy says:

pls miss techy does this phone have a better image quality than tecno camon 8?

    1. Tobi Ayeni says:

The Camon C8 is a camera phone, I think the Camon C8 is better.

  18. Gabriel says:

Hello, Where can I get the innjoo 2. Nice Review.

    1. Tobi Ayeni says:

It should be available in Jumia soonest. It got delayed at the airport.

  19. Kolawole says:

Miss Techy, don’t pretend like you’ve not been following the Infinix Zero 3. I just checked their site and the phone was over described. Forgive me, I don’t know how you get your funds but please let Infinix Zero 3 be the next phone you review as soon as you can get your hands on it. The whole world is waiting for the price tag tho ?. But you just have to show us that all they’ve posted on their site is for real! Coz that phone with that specs is the middle class flagship device of 2015 (I hope its middle class)

  20. Mr DoSomething says:

Miss Techy, really this devise is not looking so special to me.
    1. The UI seems so boring
    2. Innjoo after sales service is so poor
    3. The quality of Innjoo devices are not so good
I tried the Innjoo 1 back then and the phone slips then the back glass was broken. I went to their service center to get it fixed immediately but they told me the spare part is not available. I had to give out this phone out of frustration.
In conclusion, as Nigerians we want to pay less for more and Infinix is like the only brand giving us the real value for more

  21. misstechcy keep up with the goodwork!!! plz i need full review of innjoo max 2 plus… thanks a lot

  22. courage says:

miss techy we are waiting for innjoo max 2 plus

  23. nuel says:

well what can i say, i wasn’t impressed when miss techy first spoke about this device and i am sure am not impressed now, i would be insane to pull out 40k for a device like this with all the bad sides when i can get an S4 or a Samsung J5 with rest of mind, Phamton 5 still the best tecno, innjoo infinix device all there and yes i think the price is worth it, it only seems expensive because it’s a tecno, thanks for the review, my interest for this device just died.

  24. Ayo says:

Nice review but still waiting for a review of the infinix zero 3..

  25. paul says:

    1. Tobi Ayeni says:

Not that i know of. Will help you confirm

  26. paul says:

I heard the innjoo 2 comes in 2 versions. Is this true

  27. ogemdi says:

hello miss techy, if asked, would you buy this innjoo2 or infinix note 2 2gb RAM?

  28. Anonymous says:

  29. Otas says:

Hi miss Techy, I know it’s rather late, but I wanna get the phone so I looked up the review on ur site… Used the Innjoo last year but was stolen. Some key elements u left out that I would love to confirm…
Does the phone heat up?… and secondly u didn’t mention anything about LED notification light???. Thirdly, u left out the resolution Display, how good Is it???… please would love to know. thanks

  30. Israel istifanus says:

Nice but am not happy about the camera.

  31. Israel istifanus says:

Nice but am not happy about the camera. And again one thing I noticed about the innjoo2 is that it’s antiscratch, you can do the test and see for yourself.

  32. Samito says:

I don’t know how you review your phones though. but about the CAMERA in low light. 1. you didn’t allow the camera to focus. that picture was a very poor picture.. Innjoo 2 back camera has double flash and a very detailed focus. Moreso the FINGERPRINTS not accepting 360 degree? that’s so not true. once I register a finger… I can unlock it from whatever position. and the FAST CHARGE ? I’ve been using Innjoo 2 going to 4 months now. This phone battery is 3200mAh and it gets filled up from 1% in at most 1hr 50mins… I mean at most. that’s when you use its charger of course as the phone is incompatible with many other chargers. what can be faster than a 3200mAh battery getting filled up in less than 2hrs from 0 %

  33. Anonymous says:

please is the battery life up2 4000AmH?
