It appears that the “techies” are fascinated with James Bond. First it was with the rumor that Sony wanted to pay James Bond’s Daniel Craig $5million to use the Sony smartphone in the next James Bond movie, then the rumor about Facebook using James Bond’s secretary name – Moneypenny for their Personal assistant and now this.
If you followed the rumor earlier this year, you should remember how Daniel Craig turned down the $5million offer to use the Sony phone in the upcoming Bond movie – Spectre. It appears that the story was either a planned PR or they’ve had a rethink as James Bond might be using the new Sony Xperia smartphone in the movie Spectre.
Yesterday, thanks to Digi-wo, a poster was leaked with respect to Sony’s new device, the poster had the tagline: “Made for Bond”, and underneath those words it says “Xperia -5”.
As you can see above, the letter(s) before 5 has been blurred out to create a bit of suspense. (Not that it is really a suspense though) especially since the Z4 was launched some months back – it is only logical to think that the blurred letter is a Z signifying the Xperia Z5 which has been rumored to come with a Snapdragon 820 chipset, a 4GB RAM, 5000mAh battery, and feature a fingerprint recognition system while sporting a 21MP Sony Exmor RS IMX230 CMOS sensor, with 4K video recording support and HDR capabilities.
If there is anything that is certain, it’s the fact that the new device from Sony would have to be a flagship device given the collaboration with the Bond franchise, however, till September before we would know for sure if what was speculated might be the real deal.
In other news, we all should be on the look out for the device in the James Bond Movie launching this November.
