I am guessing that the impressive iPhone sales for Q3 has opened the eyes of many.
Yesterday, John Chen, Blackberry’s CEO confirmed in an interview with Fox news that they are planning on slashing the number of devices they release yearly. According to John Chen, “Traditionally, we make four phones a year. We are not going to do that anymore. We are going to at least cut it down to a lot less number, maybe two, maybe one.”
When you consider brands like Samsung, LG and don’t forget the king of them all – Tecno who flood the market with at least 4-6 device variants a year and companies like Apple who only puts out 2 devices yearly at most and their latest earning reports, one can easily tell which brand influenced Blackberry’s decisions.
However, we all know that Apple has carved out a special market for themselves and Blackberry isn’t Apple plus with their plans on making an Android device, don’t you think the strategy should be Attack and conquer?
What are your thoughts?
