I love having Women in tech as role models, this is because you can learn so much from their story, most of them usually go through a lot to prove their worth in the male-dominated world of tech – Apparently, Nunu Ntshingila has stepped into that role as earlier this week she was appointed to lead the First ever Facebook office in Africa.
I present to you Nunu Ntshigila, the Strong techy woman who is about to take the world by storm. (#NowPlaying: Who run the world)
Ms. Nun Ntshingila-Njeke has an MBA from Morgan State University and a BA from the University of Swaziland. She also has a Diploma in Advertising from AAA School of Advertising. Before her Facebook appointment, she was the Chairman of Ogilvy & Mather’s advertising in South Africa and has been termed as one of the most powerful women in advertising by her peers.
According to Bloomberg, “She has been a Director of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, Inc. since January 2011. She has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Transnet SOC Limited, since May 2006. Ms. Njeke served as a Director of Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (South Africa) Limited from September 18, 2007, to May 28, 2009. She served on the Boards of the Media Development & Diversity Agency and the V&A Waterfront.(Bloomberg)
You might be wondering why I used the term “strong” when introducing her, Everything hasn’t been so rosy for our Tech queen as she lost her husband some months back. However, she didn’t let that setback weigh her down, instead she kept her head up high despite the challenges.
As a matter of fact, her setbacks and triumphs have made her the person she is today. Kudos Nunu Ntshingila, you are our Female Tech Model of the month.
Did I mention how pretty she is?
