Even though the official name for Google new OS android M is yet to be released, the name used by the developers internally have been leaked, and it is far from what you expect, according to a report by Android Police, Google’s Internal Code Name For Android M Is Macadamia Nut Cookie (MNC).
However, if you follow Google over the years, you should know that this won’t be the final name for the release, as in recent times they have given internal codenames for Kitkat and Lollipop – Key Lime Pie for Kit Kat and Lemon Meringue Pie for Lollipop.
The acronym MNC has been used in AOSP (Android Open Source Project) by several developers over the past weeks. See the evidence below or check these links: Link 1 or Link 2
I really don’t think this internal code name can give us clues as to what the Android M would be officially called – the only thing we can do now is to wait for the Google I/O event on May 28th.
My prayer now is that my predictions come to pass (be prepared to see me gloat if that happens).
Till then fellas.
