HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY MICROSOFT
The Tech giant which changed the world has entered into her 40th year of celebration of excellence, Microsoft is 40 and fabulous! I remember my first experience with a Microsoft product ( Windows 98) Before that, I had no computer knowledge whatsoever. When I was finally able to get on the ‘internet’, it was like discovering a new world and I soon became hooked on the ‘PC’…. Ah, those were the days. When you manually had to switch a computer off, RAM came in pairs (not that much unlike today I suppose) and OMG those DISKETTES! whew, that was fun.. and to see how far they have come from that is more than amazing.
However, before the popular Mircosoft Windows series, the first windows series was Windows 1.0, First released on 20 November 1985, In case you don’t know this was what started the Microsoft Windows Line ( According to Wikipedia). See a funny but real commercial for the Windows 1.0
Now to see how they have evolved from that to this
is beyond words!
Whether you choose to admit it or not, Microsoft has sure helped in so many ways, from Office & household productivity, the expansion of internet, the ability to transfer any music you have to digital formats, making internet capable PCs effective in households thus making expansion of infrastructure cost effective and a host of other things, Not to mention the enormous amount of good the Gates foundation has accomplished through philanthropy, Microsoft would forever hold a place in our hearts. Come to think of it, there would be no Apple today without Microsoft.
So to the man I hold the deepest respect for in the World, the real brain behind Microsoft, You have been an inspiration to me. Microsoft might be 40 years old, but we all know it’s being reborn :). Thanks, Bill Gates for inspiring young Entrepreneurs across the world. As many would say, life starts at 40!
Once again, From MissTechy to Microsoft (even if I know they won’t see this), Happy 40th Birthday Microsoft.
So let’s discuss, what was your first experience with Microsoft?
