Is There Such a Thing as Too Much Storage Space?

I currently have an issue with the 500GB SSD storage on my MacBook because of video editing, so, you can say that I am team “there is no such thing as too much storage,” especially when it comes to PCs.

Now Samsung has raised the storage bar by launching a Solid State Disc (SSD) that is 30TB large with read/write speeds of 2,100MB/s and 1,700MB/s. To give you an idea of how large it is, you can load HD videos for a year and a half before you exhaust it and in numbers, that is about 5700 FHD videos, another amazing fact is that it comes in a 2.5-inch form factor!

Yes, it fits into this tiny thing:

FYI, this isn’t the world’s largest SSD as Seagate announced a 60TB drive before this one, but Seagate used a 3.5-inch form factor instead of Samsung’s 2.5-inch frame, there is also the fact that it never entered mass production, which is something Samsung is gearing towards.

It’s not clear when Samsung’s 30TB drive will go on sale, but Samsung claims that it has started manufacturing smaller quantities in sizes 14.36TB, 7.68TB, 3.84TB, 1.92TB, 960GB, and 800GB.

That said, I will only be able to afford the 30TB variant in dreamland because of the way my bank account is set up.
