StatCounter: Windows 10 Is Now Popular Than Windows 7!

After two long years of ensuring (more like forcing) that people use Windows 10, Microsoft (based on the stats from StatCounter) can proudly say that Windows 10 is now the most popular desktop OS overtaking Windows 7:

The latest figures from StatCounter show Windows 10 has a 42.78% share, which is up from 41.69% in December.

Whereas Windows 7 fell to 41.86%, losing only 0.03 percentage. Windows 8.1 followed with 8.72 percent (down 0.34 points), Windows XP had 3.36 percent (down 0.24 points), Windows 8 had 2.44 percent (down 0.42 points), and Windows Vista comes in at about 0.74 percent (up 0.04 points).

However, I must point out that StatCounter only measures usage market share as opposed to Net Applications that shows which OS has the most users, and at the moment, Net Applications places Windows 10 and Windows 7 at 28.19 percent and 44.81 percent market share, respectively.

Windows 10 right now:
