A Tale of Two Siblings: Meet The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) & The Galaxy A7 (2017).

Yes, the only person that got that question is:

Please send your mobile number to tobi dot ayeni at misstechy.com for a little something.

Say hi to these two siblings, the Galaxy A3 & the Galaxy A7, the latest devices in the A-series.

From the image above, you can tell which is the oldest. Yes, the tall black dude up there is the A7, the oldest in the A-series, while the A3 is the youngest.

Specs and design wise, you’d notice some similarities and differences, all of which I will be sharing in this post.

THE ARE OPPOSITES WHEN IT COMES TO SIZE

The obvious difference between these two devices has to do with the size, where one is short and cute (Like myself, if I may add):

The other is quite weighty and tall.

The A7 comes in at a 5.7-inch screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 73.6% and a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, while the junior sibling — the A3 — is a 4.7-inch device with a screen-to-body ratio of 67.9% and a resolution of 720 x 1080 pixels

THE A7 IS NOT ONLY BIGGER THAN THE A3 IN SIZE, BUT IN WEIGHT.

As expected, the A7 weighs more than the A3. With both of them coming in at 189g and 136g respectively.

YOU GET AMOLED SCREEN ON BOTH DEVICES:

THEY SHARE EVERYTHING WHEN IT COMES TO PLACEMENTS.

Of course, they are siblings! So this is expected.

Instead of the usual speaker grill placement, we are used to seeing on Smartphones, the A3 and A7 have the speaker grills placed on the right side of the device, along with the power button— which I kinda like.

I mean, no more obstructions when it comes to playing games and all.

Although the A7 has a larger camera (16MP in front and back) than the A3 (13MP at the back and 8MP in front), they both have the same camera placements.

You also have the USB-type C-Port and earphone jack placed beneath the device.

The volume buttons have been placed on the left.

There is also the presence of the home button which also serves as a fingerprint reader. Then you have the notification and proximity sensors on top.

THERE IS A BUT, THOUGH.

Although they both share the same placements, the A7 has a dedicated MicroSD card slot located on the top of the device

It also has the dual-SIM card slot which is located on the left side of the device

While the A3 uses a Hybrid SIM card slot.

THEY BOTH LOVE THE WATER AND CAN STAY UP TO 30 MINUTES.

Yeah, you won’t need to run for cover when it rains with the A3 and A7 thanks to the IP68 water and dust resistance feature.

THE OLDER ONE TAKES THE LEAD HERE.

Even though the A7 and A3 both come with non-removal batteries with the A7 having a larger battery (3600mAh battery as opposed to the A3’s  2350 mAh battery), the A7 has an added edge with its fast charging capabilities.

Other Specs-difference can be seen in the chart below:

Based on the first impression, I’d say the A3 and I share a bond:

The smart ones can understand the bond I am talking about.

However, when I see the specs, I get all mushy for the older brother.

Yes, I am Tony Tetuila, bite me.

Specs aside, which would you go for if given the opportunity to take one home for free? I can already guess which one “the men” would go for, but surprise me, will you?

Also, would you want a written or video review?
