While the whole world is patiently waiting for the new Android smartphone from Nokia, Microsoft made a rather surprising announcement today — A “we never experred it” type of announcement — Say hi to the new Nokia 216, a feature phone that costs about N7400 ($37)
Why would Microsoft launch a feature phone in this age of smartphones? I have no answer to that, but you should bear in mind that there are still people out there that consider “smartphones to be a luxury item,” and to them, feature phones are God sent.
Specs-wise, you are looking at a 2.4-inch QVGA display, 0.3MP cameras on the front and back. It also runs on Series 30 OS with Opera mini as its browser of choice, 1,020 mAh battery which promises a talk time of up to 18 hours and standby time of up to 19 days.
At least, if there is one thing we are sure of, it’s the battery life!
