What Would You Do If Your ‘New’ $1000 Phone Becomes Unresponsive?

For me, I’d immediately have this reaction:

Then, with a false sense of calm, drive back to return the phone and possibly demand A REFUND!

Anyway, a couple of folks who bought the iPhone X have discovered that the iPhone X becomes unresponsive in cold weather. To be precise, the phone temporarily loses touch functionality. What is worse is the fact that since there is no home button, these users have no physical button to fall back on — Apple has since acknowledged the issue. However, instead of demanding a refund like I would have, these iPhone users are advised to wait for a software update which should fix the issue. According to an Apple spokesperson:

“We are aware of instances where the iPhone X screen will become temporarily unresponsive to touch after a rapid change to a cold environment. After several seconds the screen will become fully responsive again. This will be addressed in an upcoming software update.”

Before the Android fanboys get in this mood:

Remember the numerous issues with the Google Pixel 2. Plus, this shouldn’t be a problem for folks in Nigeria given our weather here.
