Amina Oyagbola, MTN Nigeria’s Head of Human Resources and Corporate Services, popularly described as Y’ello Lady because of her practice of wearing yellow clothing and accessories for all public appearances has resigned.
Oyagbola who joined the company in 2004 and has held several positions will be leaving MTN Nigeria at the end of the year following a ‘voluntary resignation.’
According to Funso Aina, PR and Protocol Manager, Corporate Services Division of MTN Nigeria, Oyagbola has added significant value to MTN Nigeria in various capacities. She became the Human Resources Executive in 2008 during which the company became Nigeria’s first enterprise accredited with the Investors in People (IIP) Gold Standard, under her leadership, the company was named the best telecoms company in Jobberman’s best 100 best places to work in Nigeria in 2014.
Another source claims that Oyagbola’s decision to leave may be connected with top management’s instruction to her to fire 175 MTN employees.
