MAPOLY is getting an upgrade!
Last year, Governor Amosun sought for legal backing to upgrade the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic to a University of Science & Technology. Yesterday, the Ogun State House of Assembly passed a bill that would do just that.
According to Mr. Victor Fasanya, the Chairman, House Committee on Education, Science and Technology,
We need to encourage our people to go into science and technology so that we have entrepreneurs like they do in other advanced country.
The university will have two deputy Vice Chancellors, academic and administration, while the Registrar should be the Secretary of the Governing Council.
The 37-year-old institution will join other technology-based institutions in Nigeria, including the five federal universities of technology located in Bauchi, Minna, Yola, Akure, to name a few.
