For those who don’t remember, once upon a time before the iPhones and Galaxy’s of this world, there was something called a flip phone that was the craze back then – I mean, if you didn’t have a flip phone you weren’t considered a cool kid. Well, Samsung and LG wants you to keep relishing those moments by ensuring the past meets the present in 2015.

LG and Samsung’s Flip Phones
LG
Yesterday, LG unveiled Gentle, an android-powered OS in the body of a flip phone sporting some rather old aged specs. The LG Gentle’s screen is 3.2 inches in size and offers a resolution of 320 x 480. It is powered by a Snapdragon 210 chipset, a quad-core 1.1GHz CPU, an Adreno 304 GPU and also comes with a 1GB of RAM & a 4GB expandable internal memory.

Don’t fret selfie addicts, you can still take a picture or two with the Gentle, though I can’t guarantee its quality – the LG Gentle would come with a 5MP rear-facing camera, and a o.3MP front-facing camera for selfies. Lastly, it would be powered with a 1700mAh battery that might even last longer than your current smartphone. Did I mention it comes with the Android Lollipop, yes it does!

You can get LG’s Flip phone when it launches in South Korea for $170, approximately 39,000 naira in Nigeria, too much yeah?
SAMSUNG
In order not to feel left out, Samsung has also announced its own flip phone that might compete with LG’s Gentle. The successor of the Galaxy Folder (Samsung’s 2014 flip phone) comes with a 3.8-inch touchscreen that would run Android Lollipop and would feature a F2.2 aperture powered by a 1,800mAh battery.
According to SamMobile, you can get Samsung’s Flip phone around $250, that is like 57,500 naira in Nigeria… lol!

Samsung And LG’s Flip Phones
Even though these aren’t the first android powered flip phone, one can’t help but remember the good old days – who wouldn’t miss sassily snapping their phones open or closed or that feeling of physically hanging up on someone especially when they are being incredibly frustrating.

Tufiakwa, *spits* no way in hell am I getting this, not even for my more, it should better stay in south korea.
Lol overpriced devices! Not bad though.
Not a chance!
Lol, I am guessing because of the price yeah?
Like seriously will you buy this. Tobi? $250 for a samsung *iece of shit? Hell no!! And btw what is tufiakwa @ titi
Why the tufiakwa-ing…… Dunno about you folks, but I would love to get one of these….. 🙂
Tufiakwa-ing? 😀
Kay you are something else *laughing*
Haha tufiakwa-ing? See how english words are created 8-). Am not a fan of flip phones at all.
Wouldn’t even get any of them if they were free sef, with the amount of “typing” I do on mobile, flip phones simply can’t cut it. They should have used the R&D money on android based phones with qwerty keypads, not to mention that Samsung should have just stylishly snuck tizen into their phone.
