If you thought you’ll be getting a free upgrade to Windows 10 from your pirated copy of Windows – Think again because Microsoft is saying No Windows 10 For Theives or Pirates ( I am sure you are wondering why I used “Theives” – I don’t even know)
Microsoft’s Terry Myerson issued this official statement yesterday. So here is the nitty gritty – if you know you are running your PC without a genuine license (either you downloaded a new OS from a torrent source or you bought a pirated CD from you know where), your desktop will be marred with a watermark, warning you of your PC’s non-genuine state – Remember when you install an OS that isn’t registered and you see the image below – yeah, something like that.
Or worse – The black screen 🙁
According to Myerson, if you own a pirated OS, the company is going to make you pay to get the Windows 10. If you don’t want to pay, you will have to bear with the desktop watermark version which would not be open to receive essential security updates.
There you have it! So if you are using a crack version of the Windows OS and you have found a sneaky way to get a genuine license – I am sorry to say this, but you can’t enjoy the Candy Crush or Edge browser when it finally launches.
At the end of the day – where there’s a will, there’s a way! This wouldn’t be the first time Microsoft is setting barriers, but I am so sure some people would come up with a way to bypass this difficulty set by Microsoft!
What say you?
