Fan-made Subtitles Are Now Considered a Copyright infringement.

What is wrong with providing subtitles for a movie, you ask?

It seems there is everything wrong with that as a court in Sweden convicted the founder of a fan-made subtitle website Undertexter.se for copyright infringement.

I am sure you are thinking it is fine as far as it is in Sweden, but like TNW pointed out, the ruling has opened a gate that practically makes it possible to legitimately argue that fan-made subtitles can be regarded as copyright-infringing materials in other parts of the world.

In other words, subtitle distributors might soon be considered criminals.

But will this stop people making fan-made subtitles?

Over to you, do you agree with the court ruling?
